When your trial converts, we ship you a Raspberry Pi 400 — pre-configured to run Horizon Grain at the scale house, online or off.
Start 30-day trialHardware, setup, and the local app are all part of the paid plan. No extra charge.
The terminal arrives pre-configured for your site. Pair it with a printer and you're running tickets the same afternoon.
A keyboard with a computer built into it. Quiet, low-power, runs Linux. Your Horizon Grain app is pre-installed and configured for your site.
A standard HDMI monitor sized for the scale-house desk. Plug-and-display, no special drivers.
A standard USB mouse. The Pi 400 keyboard handles the rest.
Power, USB, the serial cable for your scale, and any cables needed for the analyzer — all matched to your specific models.
Printer not included. Most country elevators already have a thermal or laser printer for tickets. If you need a recommendation that pairs cleanly with the terminal, email [email protected] with what you have or want.
The terminal runs the full Horizon Grain app right at the scale house. Internet is for syncing back to your hosted account — not for capturing the ticket in front of you.
Tickets, contracts, and inventory changes sync to your hosted account continuously. The web console and the local terminal show the same data.
When the internet drops, the terminal keeps capturing everything locally. Tickets print. Producers leave. Nothing waits for the network.
When the connection comes back, the terminal syncs whatever queued up. No "syncing" screen, no operator action. Multi-day outages handle the same way as multi-minute ones.
When the terminal has an internet connection, we connect to it remotely — push updates, check logs, and fix configuration from our side. No phone-walked screen reads, no dragging a laptop into the scale house.
The terminal connects to your scale and grain analyzer over local cables. We work with most Rice Lake scale terminals and Dickey-John grain analyzers — here's what we've tested so far.
Don't see your model? We add support for new scales and analyzers as customers ask for them. Email [email protected] with what you have and we'll talk through the work.
In-person setup, if you need it. We'll drive out by appointment within about a two-hour radius of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Further than that, setup is remote, or we work out a travel charge.
The terminal ships pre-configured for your site. Connect the cables, log in once, and start running tickets the same day.
Plug in power, monitor, and mouse to the Pi 400.
Connect your scale to an open serial port with the cable we shipped. Then connect your analyzer and printer per the ports we discussed.
Confirm Horizon Grain is open and showing your site. No login needed — the terminal is already paired with your hosted account.
Run a test ticket. Print it. Adjust if needed.
If anything doesn't line up, email us. We'll work through it.
Start a 30-day trial. The terminal ships when you convert. No credit card, no phone number, no sales call.
